The Stockdale Foundation®

A BIG thank you to everyone who supported our “Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament & Casino Night” to Benefit The Stockdale Foundation on May 17th 2012.

The evening was a complete success and everyone who attended had a great time. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

The Stockdale Foundation was established in February 2009 to honor the memory of Nicole Lynn Stockdale, who died in a motorcycle accident April 15, 2008.

About Nicole

Nicole Lynn Stockdale, the only child of Marty and Julie Stockdale, was born September 3, 1988 in San Diego, CA at 10:19 PM. She weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and had a mohawk of dark hair. At the time of her birth her Dad was in the US Navy and stationed on the USS La Jolla (SSN 701), a nuclear powered submarine. When she was 20 months old she moved with her Mom and Dad to Vallejo, CA. One year later Nicole was on the move again, this time to Newport News, VA. A year later, she was on her way to the Summerville, SC area where she grew up, went to school, and made friends. Nicole Lynn Stockdale died April 15, 2008 at 4:46 PM.

Nicole was a vivacious young woman. She made friends easily, and when she did, she was usually that person's best friend. She loved to smile, she loved the camera, and she loved to dance. At the time of her death Nicole was 3 weeks away from walking across the stage to receive her high school diploma.

Nicole is missed every day by those that knew her; her absense in our lives will never be filled. But her love, her smile and her desire to help others will live on through this foundation.

The purpose of The Stockdale Foundation is to raise money and provide scholarships to deserving students who have elected to continue their education at a technical or vocational school.

Not every child is destined to obtain their four year degree. Many high school students have a career path in mind, and the training they need is provided at technical/vocational schools. Unfortunately, scholarship opportunities for these deserving students are few and far between. It is our goal to overcome this lack of available funding and help these young men and women achieve their dreams.
